Entry Criteria

Who can enter?

The AJ/Hoare Lea Bursary is awarded to a Part 2 or Part 3 graduate. The winner of the bursary will have four months to develop their design with input from Hoare Lea’s engineer. 

What’s the topic?

The topic of the project is open to entrants, but engineering advice could be provided on mechanical and electrical engineering, acoustics, audio-visual design, lighting design, sustainability, fire engineering, vertical transportation, operational engineering and post-occupancy, security design, and intelligent building design.

Entry Form

You are required to complete an A3 PDF board showcasing your design ideas. Plus a 500 word summary of the project.

Deadline for entries

The deadline for entries is Friday 27 January.

Shortlisting

Shortlisting will take place in February and the finalists will be informed if they are successful and through to the judging day by middle of February. 

Judging day

All finalists will present their presentations during live judging to the panel on 23 February in London. 

Winners announcement

Finalists will then be invited to the drinks reception following the judging where the winner will be announced.
